BLM Issues Decision on Exploratory Well North of Dubois

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lander Field Office announces that a modified finding of no significant impact (FONSI) and a decision record (DR) have been signed for an exploratory oil and gas well and associated facilities in the Brent Creek Area, ten miles north of Dubois, Wyo.

The Scott Well #2, proposed by Hudson Group LLC (Hudson), will be located on an existing lease on surface land administered by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Shoshone National Forest and mineral estate administered by the BLM. The BLM and the USFS have worked cooperatively throughout the process.

The modified FONSI and DR address additional information about down-hole operations and potential impacts to water resources that was not fully addressed in the original approval of Hudson’s application for permit to drill (APD) in 2012.

Hudson’s surface use plan of operations has been approved by the USFS and their mitigation measures have been incorporated into the BLM conditions of approval for Hudson’s APD.

The modified FONSI and DR, as well as a link to the joint USFS-BLM analysis of the impacts associated with the proposed, are available on the BLM website at
