The Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative (WLCI) Executive Committee (EC) will hold its quarterly meeting on Sept. 18 and 19 at the Bureau of Land Management’s Rock Springs Field Office, 280 Highway 191 N., in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Topics of discussion will include the 2012 Annual Report, changes to ranking criteria and updates to the conservation action plan. The WLCI EC welcomes public comments at designated times.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the EC meeting will begin at 12 p.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a tour of the Bitter Creek Head Cut and the Green River Russian Olive treatment sites. The tour is expected to end at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public are welcome but need to provide their own transportation.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the EC will reconvene at 8 a.m. and the meeting will conclude at 1 p.m.

The public is invited to join the WLCI EC on both days to learn more about the collaborative efforts of federal, state, county and local agencies to address wildlife, riparian and habitat issues in landscape conservation throughout southern Wyoming.

The WLCI is a long-term, science-based effort to assess and enhance aquatic and terrestrial habitats at a landscape scale in southwest Wyoming, while facilitating responsible development of the region’s valuable energy resources. The WLCI Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Wyoming Game & Fish Department, conservation districts and county commissions.
