BLM Lander Seeks Input on Proposed Gas Well

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lander Field Office is seeking public comments on a proposed gas well on public land approximately 10 miles southeast of Jeffrey City in Fremont County, Wyo.

International Petroleum Exploration Operating Company has submitted an application for permit to drill for the International Petroleum Green Mountain Federal No. 1 Gas Well. The proposed project area would be located on BLM surface in Section 35, Township 28 North, Range 92 West.

The proposed well would be located in the existing Found Soldier Unit, which has been in effect since 2004. In addition, a right-of-way would be granted to accommodate access to the well location. The anticipated life of the proposed project is approximately 20 years.

The Lander Field Office will prepare an environmental assessment (EA) to analyze the impacts of the proposed project. Information, including a map of the area, can be found on the website at:

Public input is valuable early in the process and will enable the BLM to develop a well-informed EA. Comments should be submitted by July 26, 2013, and may be emailed to; please include "International Petroleum" in the subject line. Comments may also be mailed to Bureau of Land Management, Lander Field Office, Attn: Andrew Gibbs, 1335 Main Street, Lander, WY 82520.
