BLM Closes Firewood Permit Sales on Muddy Mountain Area
and Opens Firewood Sales on Laramie Range in Esterbrook

The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office is no longer selling firewood permits for the Muddy Mountain. High demand has depleted firewood in the designated sites.

The Casper Field Office is offering firewood permits for the Esterbrook area from Sept. 4 to Oct. 15, 2013.

Permits are limited to three cords per person and will be issued on a first come first serve basis.  Permits are $7.50 per cord.  Individuals must show up in person at the Casper Field Office, located at 2987 Prospector Drive between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to purchase a permit and a map of the location.

Cutting will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 4 and end on Tuesday, Oct. 15.  All products must be removed no later than Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.

All available logging decks and areas will be designated and marked by BLM prior to the sale.  Firewood can be cut in these areas, and only those trees and decks marked are available for firewood use.

For more information please contact the BLM Casper Field Office at (307) 261-7600 or visit the office at the above address.
