Rock Springs BLM Seeks Public Comment
on the Proposed Horseshoe Basin Seismic Survey

The Rock Springs Bureau of Land Management is seeking comments on the Horseshoe Basin 3D Seismic Survey proposed by Devon Energy Co. The proposed project covers approximately 30 square miles of public and private lands, 45 miles south of Rock Springs, Wyo. in Townships 12N and 13N, and Ranges 101W and 102W. The project would occur west of Wyo. Highway 430 in the Horseshoe Basin and Four J Basin area.

To reduce potential environmental impacts, 60% of the project will be conducted using helicopters to transport drilling and recording equipment. Vibroseis buggies will be used on the remainder of the project area. Light trucks will be used when possible, to transport personnel and equipment to some sites, but will only use pre-approved existing access routes. The 30-day scoping period for this project will begin August 15, 2008.

For more information please contact Russell Boulware (307) 352-0308.
