Pinedale BLM Seeks Public Comment 
on the Proposed Dry Basin Draw Sand and Gravel Pit

The Pinedale Bureau of Land Management is seeking comments on a proposed 43-acre sand and gravel pit referred to as the Dry Basin Draw Sand and Gravel Pit. The proposed gravel pit would be located in Section 3, T28N, R113W, and Section 35, T29N, R113W Sublette County, about 12 miles out on the northern CalPet. Road, Comments will be accepted through August 15, 2008.

The mineral extraction would start in 2008, and continue through 2028, followed by progressive reclamation continuing through 2028. The land will be reclaimed to its previous use of grazing with new stock pond for livestock. An Environmental Assessment of the potential impacts to the project, and surrounding areas will be conducted. This gravel pit would provide materials for resurfacing the CalPet. and Dry Piney Roads.
