BLM announces scoping for Meeteetse 3-D Geophysical Project

The Bureau of Land Management Cody Field Office received an application from Saga Petroleum, LLC for authorization to conduct geophysical exploration operations on 5141 acres of public lands in the Meeteetse Rim – Greybull River area north of Meeteetse, Wyo. The proposed seismic project area is located approximately 5 miles north of Meeteetse, east of State Highway 120. Geophysical exploration helps determine the potential for oil and gas resources in underlying geologic formations.

The public is encouraged to help determine the level of analysis of the proposal, offer ideas to ensure its completeness, and suggest alternatives and mitigation. Comments will be accepted through April 2, 2008. The document is available at http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/cyfodocs/meeteetse_3d.html.

Please send comments to BLM; Cody Field Office; Attn: Meeteetse 3-D Geophysical Project; P.O. Box 518; Cody, WY 82414. Comments may also be emailed to: cody_wymail@blm.gov. Please include "Meeteetse 3-D Geophysical Project " in the subject line.
