National Historic Trails Interpretive Center
Celebrates the Holidays with Music

The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) will host its annual Holiday on the Homestead on Saturday, December 8th from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free all day.

This year’s theme is “Music and Family”. Families and other Trails Center visitors will be entertained with a wide variety of musical presentations. Students from several Casper area schools will be performing as part of orchestras and choirs, and a new group to the NHTIC, Prairie Winds, will perform on a cadre of string instruments such as guitar and banjo. In addition to holiday music, some of the performers will showcase modern and ethnic selections. Father Christmas will be on hand as well, providing visitors with a warm holiday greeting.

The NHTIC plans Holiday on the Homestead as a way to thank the community of Casper and the state of Wyoming for their support of the facility, and each year a new theme is chosen. “Family and music have long been traditional elements of our culture, especially during this season. We invite everyone to come to the Trails Center and begin the celebration of this season with us,” said NHTIC Director, Jude Carino.

A schedule of events will be available for the public at the facility’s front desk, located at 1501 North Poplar, or by logging onto the following website: www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/NHTIC.html. For more information call 307-261-7780.

The NHTIC is a public-private partnership between the Bureau of Land Management and the National Historic Trails Center Foundation.
