BLM Receives Request To Drill In Fifteenmile

The Bureau of Land Management Worland Field Office has received a notice of intent from a petroleum company to drill three oil and gas wildcat wells approximately one mile northwest of the Washakie County landfill, and one mile west of the rifle range, in T. 47 N., R. 93, section 15. Two of the proposed wells associated with this project are within the Off Road Vehicle "open" area, as designated in the Grass Creek Resource Management Plan.

BLM is conducting an environmental assessment of the proposal submitted by Grynberg Petroleum Co. of Greenwood Village, Colorado. Holly Elliott, BLM Natural Resources Specialist, said construction operations could begin within 30 days of receiving a technically and administratively complete application package from the operator. Drilling is expected to take 20 to 30 days for each well.
