Casper BLM Hosts Scoping meeting on
Muddy Mountain Coordinated Activity Management Plan

On March 15, 2007, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper Field Office is hosting a public scoping meeting on the proposed Muddy Mountain Coordinated Activity Management Plan. The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Casper Field Office, 2987 Prospector Drive, Casper Wyo.

The Muddy Mountain Coordinated Activity Management Plan will address management of natural resources and land uses associated with Muddy Mountain located south of Casper.

The scoping meeting is a starting point in which the public can identify issues to be addressed. Issues already identified include:

  • vegetation and habitat management
  • travel management
  • recreational use
  • fire management
  • land-tenure adjustments.

Written comments should be submitted by April 15, 2007 and addressed to: BLM; George Soehn; Project Team Leader; 2987 Prospector Drive; Casper, WY 82604. Comments can also be submitted via email to: casper_wymail@blm.gov.

Muddy Mountain is a 1,260 acre popular recreation area located 20 minutes south of Casper. The Muddy Mountain Environmental Education Area provides camping, hiking, biking and many other recreational opportunities to the public.
