BLM Releases Hanna Draw CBNG Pilot Project Environmental Assessment (EA) for Public Comment

The Rawlins Field Office is asking the public to review and comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Hanna Draw Coalbed Natural Gas (CBNG) Pilot Project, a project located approximately eight miles north of Hanna, Wyo. Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is the project proponent.

The Hanna Draw CBNG Pilot Project EA analyzes the environmental impacts of drilling, completing, and operating up to 15 coalbed natural gas well locations in Township 23 North, Range 81 West, Sixth Principal Meridian, in Carbon County, Wyo. All of the proposed well locations are located on BLM-administered public lands. The proposed action would include the storage of produced water in an existing reservoir located on fee estate.

The EA is available by visiting the BLM website at:

For those without internet access, a copy of the EA may be obtained by contacting Travis Bargsten at 307-328-4387.
