BLM Casper Field Office Issues Partial Fire Restrictions
The Casper Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has issued a partial fire restriction for BLM administered lands in Natrona, Converse, Goshen and Platte Counties due to high fire danger. These restrictions will be in place until further notice.
The partial fire restriction includes the following items:
-Fireworks cannot be used in any form on any BLM administered lands in the subject area.
-Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, barbecue or grill except in specific areas in authorized recreation sites.
-Smoking, except in an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren.
-Operating a chainsaw without a USDA or SAE approved spark arrester properly installed and in effective working order.
-Welding or operating acetylene or other torch with an open flame except in cleared areas of at least ten feet in diameter.
-Using any explosive requiring blasting caps.
Violation of the above prohibitions is punishable by a fine or imprisonment, or both.
