The Homestead Act is a very important part of the migration story that is featured at the BLM's National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, Wyoming. The trails became the highways to travel to the West, especially when Oregon opened up and the Homestead Act came into being.

The video looks at the history of homesteading through the eyes of BLM interpretive staff and Wyoming rancher, and homesteader descendant, Jamis Johnson.
