Full PDF version

The Collaboration and Dispute Resolution Program has published the following guide, a companion to the Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement and ADR Field Guide, to provide further information on the negotiation process as well as strategies for getting to negotiated agreements on natural resources issues in the BLM.  Using steps and strategies specifically designed for natural resources negotiations, the Bureau and stakeholders can resolve disputes and acheive agreements that are more creative, sustainable, and satisfactory to the parties than those imposed through the conventional methods of conflict resolution.  Addressing conflict through negotiation often can improve relationships and resolve issues associated with protests, appelas, and litigation.
