Starting in Grand Junction, (333 North, 1st street), head south on N 1st street toward west grand avenue for 0.4 miles. North 1srt ave turns left and becomes Pitkin Ave, follow this 0.3 miles. Turn right onto US-50 east and drive 9.2 miles to the start of the byway (highway 141) in Whitewater, Colorado.
A fabulous journey through history, geology, culture and nature awaits you on the Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic and Historic Byway (UTB). The UTB is located in western Colorado, south of the city of Grand Junction. It extends from Whitewater, CO to Placerville, CO, passing through the communities of Gateway, Naturita, Nucla, Redvale and Norwood. Twisted monoliths and ancient lands bear dinosaur bones and mineral treasures, while the Hanging Flume and the Driggs Mansion tell of human endeavors in a challenging landscape.
