BLM Posts Proposed Parcel List for August Lease Sale

Salt Lake City—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salt Lake Field Office today posted the list of parcels proposed for auction at the quarterly competitive oil and gas lease sale scheduled for Aug. 20, 2013, in Salt Lake City.  The list includes 35 proposed parcels totaling 65,727.35 acres and posting initiates a 30-day public protest period.

The deadline for submitting protests is 4:30 p.m., June 17, 2013.  All protests must be received by the BLM-Utah State Office, located at 440 West 200 South, Suite 500, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.  The 35 proposed parcels are located in the BLM-Utah Salt Lake Field Office with 53,901.22 acres located in Tooele County and 11,826.13 acres in Box Elder County.  These parcels are identified as available to oil and gas leasing under the current resource management plans for the Salt Lake Field Office.  The RMPs identify what restrictions, or stipulations, are included with the leases.

The competitive oral auction will take place at the BLM-Utah State Office, 440 West 200 South, Suite 500, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101.  The sale room opens at 7:45 a.m. to allow potential bidders to register and obtain a bidder number.  The competitive oral auction will begin at 9 a.m.
