Temporary 3-Day Closure of Red Cliffs Recreation Area

Portions of the Red Cliffs Recreation Area will be temporarily closed for 3 days 6/25/13-6/27/13. The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area is preparing to replace two low water crossings with vehicle/pedestrian bridges on the Red Cliffs Road in the Red Cliffs Recreation Area in Washington County, Utah. Geotechnical testing will be conducted at both water crossings, in support of the proposed bridge project. To ensure public safety during geotechnical testing, portions of the Red Cliffs Recreation Area will be closed to both motorized and non-motorized users on June 25, 26, and 27, 2013.
Those areas affected by this closure are: the Red Cliffs Road from the entrance gate to the campground including the campground loop, the day use area, the campground, the Red Reef Trail from the campground to the US Forest Service boundary, the Silver Reef Trail, and the Anasazi Trail.
The White Reef Trailhead will remain open for non-motorized access to those trails not affected by the closure.
