The Central Utah Fuels Program, out of the Fillmore Field Office, is responsible for hazardous fuels management in Millard and Juab counties.

Reducing and treating hazardous fuels is one of many key aspects in helping to protect communities from wildfires, while simultaneously restoring healthy forests and rangelands and enhancing natural habitats.

The majority of our current fuels projects are in the vicinity of or adjacent to designated Communities at Risk. Many more are in the planning stages. Also many of these projects are located in “high priority or critical” big game winter range and Greater Sage Grouse habitat.

Collaborative partners and funding are an important aspect to the Fuels program. Major partnerships include the UPCD, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, UDWR, The Mule Deer Foundation, Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, NRCS and the National Mustang Association.
