Yellowstone River Island WSA
The Yellowstone River Island WSA is a continually changing island in an active portion of the Yellowstone River. Dense willows grow along the outer more recently formed extremities of the island. Cattail marsh areas are in low areas. The more stable and higher interior portion of the island contains cottonwood stands intermixed with open grassy areas. Due to the island's diverse vegetation, a wide range of wildlife can be seen. River floaters sometimes camp on the island.
Yellowstone River Island WSA is located in Park County approximately 2.5 miles northeast of Livingston, Montana. Access to this WSA is by boat. Launch at Mayors Landing (in Livingston) and float 1-2 miles. The boat take out is at the highway 89 bridge about 6 miles from the launch.
