Maps and Guidebooks

Consistent with guidance provided by the CDC and Governor Brown’s Stay at Home Executive Order No. 20-12, access and use of the John Day River is temporarily closed from Kimberly to Tumwater Falls. Due to closures of facilities including boat ramps, campgrounds, and bathrooms, and restrictions on portions of the river corridor by our local, and state partners, we are not able to safely provide boater access and use of the river system at this time. All reservations for April 1 - April 30 will be cancelled. The Prineville District recognizes the value of our outdoor spaces and the health benefits of outdoor activity and will re-open access to the river as soon as we can safely do so. Please continue monitoring this page for updates.
