Lakeview

Documents in Project

Environmental Assessment,Finding of No Significant Impact DOI-BLM-OR-L050-2014-0021-EA Planning in Progress
The BLM has prepared an EA and FONSI documenting the potential effects of expanding its existing integrated weed management plan to make 10 additional herbicides available and allowing herbicides to be used to treat all non-native invasive plants, not just noxious weeds.

Integrated Invasive Plant Management For the Lakeview Resource Area Revised Environmental Assessment DOI-BLM-OR-L050-2014-0021-EA Planning Completed
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is expanding and updating its existing integrated noxious weed management program. Lakeview Resource Area has been controlling noxious weeds under a 2004 EA for Integrated Noxious Weed Management Program for the Lakeview Resource Area that analyzed treatments using a range of methods including manual, mechanical, biological controls (mostly insects), targeted grazing, prescribed fire, and herbicides. The Resource Area analyzed the effects of expanding this program by: • Increasing the kinds of plants controlled from noxious to all invasive plants; and, • Increasing the number of herbicides to be used from four to 14. This Revised EA contains additional information about targeted grazing and ESA consultation since the August 2014 EA was distributed for public review.

The Resource Area analyzed the effects of expanding this program by: • Increasing the kinds of plants controlled from noxious to all invasive plants; and, • Increasing the number of herbicides to be used from four to 14. This signed FONSI explains the reasons why the selected alternative will not have a significant effects on the environment and therefore, why an EIS will not be required.

Decision Record: Invasive Plant Management for the Lakeview Resource Area Excluding the Warner Basin DOI-BLM-OR-OR-L050-2014-0021-EA Planning Completed

This Decision authorizes treatments as analyzed in the EA on the Lakeview Resource Area not including the Warner Basin, where ESA consultation is not yet complete.
