Elko District BLM Hosts Open House on Cedar Ridge Oil Exploration

ELKO, Nev.—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Elko District Office is hosting an open house Wednesday, Aug. 20 to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and comment on proposed oil exploration near Cedar Ridge, southwest of Elko. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Elko District office, 3900 E. Idaho St., and will last approximately three hours.

Following a brief presentation at 4:30 p.m., the public will be able to interact with representatives from EFT Nevada, LLC the project proponent, BLM staff and management. Written comments will be accepted during the evening. The proposed project and maps are available at

The BLM's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. In Fiscal Year 2015, the BLM generated $4.1 billion in receipts from activities occurring on public lands.
