Bishop Fire Update

The 512-acre Bishop Fire, east of the Delamar Mountains approximately 25 miles south of Caliente, Nev., is 99-percent contained.  Firefighters are being released to support other fires in eastern Nevada. 

The lightning-ignited fire was first reported at about 1:15 p.m., Saturday, July 20.  It posed no threat to human life or property.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely District suppressed the fire with assistance from the Forest Service, Lincoln County Fire Protection District and local contracted resources.
