Resource Advisory Council Sage-grouse subcommittee to meet December 13

Carson City, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC), Sage-grouse subcommittee will meet via conference call on Dec. 13, 2013, at the BLM Nevada State Office, 1340 Financial Blvd. in Reno. The conference call is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will be held in the Peavine conference room. The public is invited to sit in.
The RAC advises and makes recommendations to the BLM on the management of public lands.  Discussion items will include the Greater and Bi-State sage-grouse.
The Federal Land Policy and Management Act directs the Secretary of the Interior to involve the public in planning and discussion of issues related to management of BLM-administered public lands. The Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin RAC is one of three such councils in Nevada that accommodates this community participation directive. Represented on the council are commercial and non-commercial users that include elected officials and state agencies, environmental, livestock, mining, Native American, and wild horse and burro interests.

Individuals planning to attend and needing special assistance such as sign language interpretation or other reasonable accommodations, should contact Lisa Ross no later than December 10, 2013.
