BLM Proposes to Sell 133.57 Acres in Clark County

Las Vegas – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Las Vegas Field Office, is seeking public comments on a proposal to sell 133.57 acres of public lands in Clark County, Nev.  The proposed competitive sale of nine parcels would be by sealed-bids conducted in accordance with the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA). A Notice of Realty Action published in the April 29 Federal Register opened a 45-day comment period, which will close June 13.

The parcels range in size from 1.07 acres to 31.25 acres would be offered at not less that the fair market value. The fair market value for the parcels, the period to submit sealed-bids, and the sale date will be announced in local and online media at least 30 days prior to the sale.

In accordance with the SNPLMA, the funds generated by this proposed sale will be used throughout Nevada for projects such as the development of parks, trails, and natural areas, capital improvements on Federal lands, acquisition of environmentally sensitive land and Lake Tahoe restoration projects. Additionally, five percent of the revenue goes to the State of Nevada General Education Fund and 10 percent to the Southern Nevada Water Authority.
