BLM Mojave-Southern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council to Hold Meeting

Las Vegas, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will meet with the Mojave-Southern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council (RAC) Friday September 21, at BLM Southern Nevada District Office, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Dr., Las Vegas, Nev. The meeting is open to the public, and individuals may make public comments from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.
The RAC advises and makes recommendations to the BLM on public land management. Discussion items will include, but are not limited to, updates from the recreation and resource management plan subgroups, sage grouse, and reports on BLM initiatives. A full agenda is available online at
The Mojave-Southern Great Basin RAC is made up of community members representing categories including: commercial and non-commercial uses, elected officials and state agencies, environmental, livestock, mining, Native American, and wild horse and burro.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
