A Bureau of Land Management Partnership With County of Eureka, Nevada

The Bureau of Land Management, Battle Mountain Field Office and Eureka County are pleased to implement the Green Up Program in the Eureka Landfill and Crescent Valley Transfer Site. The purpose of the program is to keep public lands clean and prevent illegal dumping in Eureka County.

Residents of Eureka County will be allowed to bring selected recyclable material to the Landfill and Transfer Site without having to pay the gate fee to dump these items. The following items will be accepted free of charge:

• White goods, refrigerators, water heaters
• Scrap and bulk metal, car bodies, campers
• Tires (Any size with or without rims)
• Batteries

This program will not include household garbage. Farming and ranching communities are encouraged to participate in this program; however, commercial haulers and businesses will not be authorized to participate in this program.

This program is only available during normal operating hours at the Eureka Landfill and by appointment at the Crescent Valley Transfer Site.

The Eureka County Public Works Office will be introducing this program to its residents and BLM is eager to be partnering with Eureka County.

If you have any questions, or to report a possible illegal dump site, please notify the Eureka County Public Works Office at (775) 237-5372 or BLM Battle Mountain Field Office, Environmental Protection Specialist, John Ames at (775) 635-4000.
