  A TV shoot in Utah...
The cast and crew of CBS's Touched by an Angel have been filming on BLM lands in Utahıs deserts and mountains for years. When they needed a backdrop that looked like Africa for an episode shot in August 1999, they chose the dry, barren landscape of an old gravel pit on Stansbury Island. This choice of location resulted in no damage to public lands on the island.

Gray Canyon, on the Green River
Utah's rugged Gray Canyon was named for the

Red Rock Conservation Area
In the Red Rock National Conservation Area - just 20 miles west of Las Vegas - the red and cream-colored blocks of the Keystone Thrust Fault tower 2,000 feet above the Mojave Desert floor.
