Background: On February 16, 2011, President Obama announced the America’s Great Outdoors:  A Promise to Future Generations report. Using public comment and input received from listening sessions that were conducted throughout the Nation, the report was compiled by a host of interdepartmental teams. The AGO documents under review represent BLM’s coordinated effort to implement the recommendations from the report. In developing BLM’s Implementation/Action Plan, every effort was made to commit to activities and actions that we are currently implementing. The focus of the entire effort is to promote and expand conservation of our public lands while providing important and diverse outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans.
Manual/Handbook Sections Affected: None.
Coordination: Coordination done through the Washington Office of Natinoal Landscape Conservation System and Community Programs.
Contact: Please contact David Lefevre, Montana/Dakotas NLCS Lead (MT924), at 896-5037.
