BLM Dakotas Resource Advisory Council meeting set

            DICKINSON, N.D.  – The Bureau of Land Management Dakotas Resource Advisory Council will meet Sept. 25 at the Bowman City office building located at 101 First Street Northeast in Bowman, ND.

The meeting is open to the public and will start at 9:00 a.m. The public comment period will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  Interested persons may make oral presentations or file written statements for the council to consider. Depending on the number of persons wishing to comment and time available, the time for individual oral comments may be limited.

Topics to be discussed at the meeting will include council member briefings to the BLM, North Dakota and South Dakota Field Office updates and other ongoing resource management issues.            

The purpose of the council is to advise the Secretary of the Interior through the BLM on a variety of issues associated with public land management. For more information contact BLM RAC Coordinator Mark Jacobsen at 406.233.2831.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. In Fiscal Year 2015, the BLM generated $4.1 billion in receipts from activities occurring on public lands.
