Sale Conditions for Marquette County, Michigan

Bidders are advised to read the terms and conditions of the sale contained in the Notice of Realty Action. Bidders are also advised to become familiar with any and all planning, zoning and development constraints on the future uses of the lands in Marquette County, Michigan. 


The public land will be conveyed by government lot or aliquot part description based upon existing United States survey records. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will not complete an individual survey of any specific parcel.  


Until the acceptance of the offer and payment of the purchase price is received, the bidder has no contractual or other rights against the United States, and no action taken shall create any contractual or other obligations of the United States. 

The public lands will be conveyed by patent issued by the BLM Eastern States office. The patent will be issued for the surface but not the subsurface estate.  The BLM will not provide title insurance or pay realtor fees. 

The BLM will open written bids on April 30, 2013 and will notify all bidders within 30 days if their bid has been accepted or rejected. Bidders submitting matching high bid amounts for the same parcel will be notified and provided an opportunity to submit supplemental bids. Bid results will also be posted on this webpage.

If you are declared the high bidder, you must pay the full bid price within 180 calendar days of the competitive sale date of October 28, 2013, in the form of a certified check, money order, bank draft, or cashier’s check made payable in U.S. dollars to the Bureau of Land Management. Personal checks will not be accepted.
