Rural Telephone Company has applied to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Jarbidge Field Office for a right-of-way (ROW) to upgrade and extend a fiber optic cable. The fiber optic telecommunication facilities would upgrade the existing telecommunications facilities with broadband capabilities and provide improved service to residents and businesses in Owyhee County, Idaho and Elko County, Nevada. The cable would start at Murphy Hot Springs, Idaho and end in Jarbidge, Nevada.
