Pocatello Resource Management Plan (April 2012)

The Idaho BLM Director signed the Record of Decision (ROD) for the Approved Pocatello Resource Management Plan (ARMP) on July 10, 2012. This plan guides future management of BLM-administered lands to sustain health, diversity and productivity in nine counties of southeastern Idaho. The ARMP is the result of collaboration with interested parties and the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. The ROD serves as BLM's final decision for the land-use planning decisions as described in this ARMP.

BLM received two protest letters as a result of the Pocatello proposed resource management plan. These protest issues were reviewed, analyzed and resolved by the Director of the BLM prior to approval of the ARMP. The BLM Director upheld all land use plan decisions of the proposed RMP, resulting in no decisions of the ARMP being changed as a result of the protests. The BLM Director's Protest Resolution Report, response to the protest letters, can be found here.

In addition to providing land-use planning direction for travel management, the ARMP also designates several motorized travel routes. All appeals to these designations must be made within 30 days of the publication date of the Notice of Availability (NOA) in the Federal Register.  The NOA was published on Wednesday, August 15, 2012  and can be found at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-08-15/pdf/2012-20018.pdf

BLM would like to thank you for your continued interest and involvement in the management of the public lands within the Pocatello Field Office area.
