The BLM, Black Rock Field Office, has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact and Decision Record for the proposal to gather excess wild horses from the Jackson Mountains Herd Management Area (HMA).  Continuing and escalating drought conditions leading to lack of spring vegetation growth, minimal residual vegetation from previous year's forage crop, and reduced natural water availability, has lead to declining wild horse health.  Based on this, the Decision Record includes an emergency removal of wild horses from the southwestern portion of the HMA in an effort to gather the wild horses before their health is severely compromised.
