Grand Valley Open OHV Area

Season Dates: Year round

Fees: None

Site Overview: The Grand Valley OHV Open Area consists of 17 square miles of desert badlands north of Grand Junction.  The barren hills of Mancos shale offer challenging rides for all types of vehicles and riders of all skill levels.  Cross country travel is  permitted within the Grand Valley OHV Area boundaries.  The OHV area is a "no shooting zone"; however, the public lands surrounding the OHV area, to the north and west, are open to target shooting and are used quite heavily for this sport, so please use extreme caution when traveling outside the Grand Valley OHV area.  Travel outside the "open" area is limited to existing roads and trails.
