Bull Gulch Recreation Area
|The stunning views of the rugged Bull Gulch Recreation Area include colorful sandstone cliffs and canyons, incredible stratification, volcanic intrusions, landslide deposits, and gulches draining into the Colorado River. Diverse vegetation prevails throughout the area. At lower elevations, sagebrush and pinyon-juniper pine predominate. The higher elevations offer Douglas fir, aspen, Englemann spruce, subalpine fir, and Ponderosa pine habitat. In addition to foot access, visitors can enter the area by rafting or canoeing the river.|

Directions: Located about 15 to 20 miles north of Dotsero, Bull Gulch Recreation Area can be accessed via various unsurfaced county roads. For more information, contact the Colorado River Valley Field Office.
