BLM Nevada is Expanding Operations

BLM Nevada offices are opening to the public today, June 14, 2021 in the Carson City, Ely, Elko, Battle Mountain and Winnemucca Districts and will operate at a limited capacity to comply with DOI directives which requires that facilities operate at 25% occupancy level.

The BLM will continue to follow the most current guidance from the CDC related to mask requirements.  

It is encouraged that customer wishing to visit one of the BLM information centers call ahead to make an appointment and to learn about alternate ways of conducting and effectively meeting your needs such as the new Minerals and Lands Records System (MLRS) as well as the turnaround time associated with your transaction type.

Individuals with appointments should be aware that in person processing of more than 50 claims will not be possible based on the time required to enter and process claims into the new national system. 

At the Nevada State Office, a drop box is located outside the front entry from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday – Friday excluding holidays. The drop box will be available for all BLM Information Access Center products but mainly mining claim maintenance fees and waiver certifications until 4:00PM local time on September 1, 2021 or for Affidavit of Assessment and Notice of Intent to Hold until 4:00PM local time December 30, 2021. 

Due to high volume during maintenance fee season, there will be extended turnaround times on most mining related submissions. You will be contacted by an IAC representative when your request has been complete.   

With maintenance fee season in full swing from now until September 1, 2021, you can drop off your fees at the state office and a representative will contact you when your receipt and package are complete, or you can request the receipt be mailed or emailed to you after completion. You may also want to try the Minerals and Lands Records System (MLRS).
