Acting Montana-Dakotas State Director

Prior to being named Acting State Director in January 2022, Theresa has been the Associate State Director for Montana since November 2019 and has supported the State Director on all facets of managing the organization. She has assisted in the development of the strategic plan and priorities for the State, ensuring they align with the Department priorities, strengthened government-to-government relationships with sovereign Tribal nations, and helped integrate wildland fire, fuels management rangeland and forestry programs that will help achieve conservation goals of America the Beautiful Act. Before becoming the ASD in Montana, Theresa was the ASD in Oregon/Washington from 2014 through 2019. Theresa has been with BLM since 1992 where she started out as an Archeologist in the Las Cruces Field Office. Since then, she has held several positions throughout the Bureau to include Field Manager, Supervisory Land use Specialist, Deputy State Director of Resources and Agency Liaison on detail to the office of the Assistant Secretary Lands and Minerals.
