Coyote Buttes Permits
This web site allows you to check permit availability, and apply for and purchase a permit for hiking in Coyote Buttes, part of the Paria Canyon/Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. Advance permits are required to visit Coyote Buttes.
Coyote Buttes has two permit areas, North and South. Because of overwhelming demand, Coyote Buttes North permits are available through a lottery. On the rare occasion there are cancelations or open dates, the Coyote Buttes North calendar option is available. Coyote Buttes South has a calendar option only. This web site can only process transactions that use a credit card for payment. If you do not want to use the Internet to get your permit, you can call the Paria Canyon Project Permits Desk at (435) 688-3200 to get a permit.

Apply for a Coyote Buttes Hiking Permit
You must call the Paria Canyon Project Permits Desk in advance of your permitted dates to change your trip date. Trip date changes are subject to current hiking availability dates and a change fee is charged for changes requested.
NOTE: BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 2012, THE "RAINCHECK" POLICY WILL BE DISCONTINUED FOR COYOTE BUTTES NORTH AND SOUTH. "RAINCHECKS" WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUED AS OF THAT DATE.
