Abstract: Digitized vector data of BLM designated Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) in Arizona. Digitized from 1:24,000 scale manuscripts prepared by Field Office Specialists
or digitized on-screen and edited at 1:24:000 scale or larger by GIS specialists. |
Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

Attribute accuracy is tested by manually comparing hard copy plots of the digital data with source materials or by interactively querying and verifying on the screen.
The data has been checked to make sure that all intended polygons are closed, that there are no unintended undershoots, overshoots or dangles and that there is only only label point per polygon. This does not preclude the presence of one or more of these errors.
Considered complete. Updates may occur as needed.
Approximately + or - 40 feet. Test by visual comparison of hard copy check plots against source material and/ or verfying the location of the data on screen relative to other data layers in the same geographic area.
None.
Vector data representing BLM designated Areas of Critical Environmental Concern boundaries.
Data were compiled on 1:24000 scale USGS paper quads and digitized from those quads. Some of the original ArcInfo coverages were converted to shapefiles and edited in ArcView while others were edited in ArcEdit. Shapefiles were converted back to coverages and Individual files were then merged into a single statewide coverage. Data was checked on screen against other data layers in the same geographic area. Updates were performed in 10/2008 to reflect changes resulting from new Land Use Plans in the Arizona Strip, Hassayampa, Lake Havasu, and Yuma Field Offices. The updated data was then sent to each Field Office for verification.
