    Abstract:
      This dataset represents Surface and Mineral Ownership for the state of Wyoming. This dataset is intented to represent the ownership information on Master Title Plats(MTPs).

      Surface ownership will be identified by the Agency of Juridiction, when the surface is Federal. All other parcels will be identified as either Private or State. Private parcels do not identify the name of the individual owner.

      Mineral ownership identifies only the Federal interest.
    Purpose: To accurately represent Surface and Federal Mineral ownership.

    Attribute_Accuracy_Report: Attributes were checked against the MTPs for accuracy.  If errors are found by users they are corrected promptly.
  Logical_Consistency_Report: Data has been checked for topological consistency. There are no dangling Arcs, unlabeled polygons, or other topological errors.
  Completeness_Report: Attributing is limited to general ownership categories. For instance, private land is attributed as "private" and not by individual land owners. Land ownership changes not within areas of BLM jurisdiction may not be up-to-date.

      Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report: Generally, the user can assume the accuracy to be not less than 1:24000 or +/- 50 ground feet according to National Mapping Accuracy standards. Data was digitized off of 1:24,000 mylars with registration points comparable to USGS 7.5 minute topographic maps.

      Process_Description: Using Geographic Coordinate Database(GCDB) 1/4 1/4 points as a base for snapping and MTPs as an information reference, ownership lines are heads-up digitized in Arc/Info. After polygons have been formed from the lines attributes that reflect surface and federal mineral ownership are entered.
