Abstract:
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Casper Field Office administrative area is located in east-central Wyoming and includes approximately 8.5 million acres of land in most of Natrona County and all of Converse, Platte, and Goshen counties. This Record of Decision (ROD) approves the Casper Resource Management Plan (RMP). The ROD and RMP provides overall direction for managment of all resources on BLM-administered land in the Casper Field Office planning area.
The GIS data was created for the December 7th, 2007, Record of Decision and Approved Casper Resource Management Plan (ROD/ARMP). The purpose of this dataset is to show areas in the Casper Field Office that are unavailable or closed to certain uses. The attribute table discloses what use(s) are not allowed. The dataset was created using multiple datasets from GIS project files. This plan provides direction for managing BLM-administered public lands in Natrona, Converse, Platte, and Goshen counties.

RESTRICTION - CLOSED, EXCLUSION, WITHDRAWAL
Withdrawals are formal lands actions that set aside, withhold, or reserve federal land by statute or administrative order for public purposes. A withdrawal creates a title encumbrance on the land. Withdrawals are established for a wide variety of purposes, e.g., power site reserves, military reservations, administrative sites, recreation sites, national parks, reclamation projects, wilderness areas, etc. Withdrawals are most often used to preserve sensitive environmental values and major federal investments in facilities or other improvements, to support national security, and to provide for public health and safety.
Categorical exclusions (CEs) are categories of actions that have been determined not to have a significant effect on the human environment either individually or cumulatively
Closed lands that are closed to certain uses; provide comprehensive management direction for all resources and uses; and make broad-scale decision to guide future site-specific project implementation.
