On November 19, 2007, we received a protest from the National Wildlife Federation to our office offering the following parcels for lease at the December 4, 2007, competitive oil and gas lease sale:

After taking into consideration the concerns stated in the protest, the Wyoming State Director has elected to defer offering parcels WY-0712-082, WY-0712-083, WY-0712-084, WY-0712-085, WY-0712-086, WY-0712-087, WY-0712-088, WY-0712-089, WY-0712-090, WY-0712-091, WY-0712-094, WY-0712-095, and WY-0712-096 for lease at the oral auction. The remaining protested parcels will be offered for lease pending our review of the merits of the protest. If, after evaluating the concerns raised in the protest this office determines they have merit, we may reject a lease offer made at the sale and may refund all monies paid. Alternatively, if our evaluation finds the concerns raised in the protest are without merit, this office will dismiss the protest and issue leases for these parcels.
