Lease Modification

What is a lease modification? A "lease modification" is an addition of lands to an existing lease that is limited to no more than 160 acres or the size of the lease if less than 160 acres for the term of the lease. These are issued on a non-competitive basis to the lease applicant. The applicant is still required to pay BLM fair market value for the additional area that is added to the lease.
