Wyoming State Fair Wild Horse Adoption

August 12 - 16, 2014 
Douglas, Wyo

BLM officials will be on hand to approve adoption applications and answer questions.

August 12-14  
    10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • 10 halter-started yearlings available for daily adoptions through silent bidding.
  • Viewing of 10 saddle-started horses for adoption Saturday.
  • Bidding will close everyday at 6 p.m.
Friday, August 15  
    8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Opening Ceremonies
  • Mustang Days All Wild Horse Show - free and open to the public  
  • Halter, lead line, team sorting, trail, and western cow handling
  • Classes for all riders and horses
  • Awards to high point winners of Junior, Adult, and Pro Divisions
Saturday, August 16 
    2-5 p.m. 
  • 2 p.m. - Trainer Showcase
  • 4:30 p.m. - Wild Horse Adoption
  • 10 saddle & remaining halter-started horses*
  • Showcase horses will be available for adoption, by competitive bid 

All Wyoming Mustang Days events are free and open to the public.  

* Showcase saddle started horses are trained by Wyoming Honor Farm in Riverton, Wyoming, and the Mantle Wild Horse Training & Adoption Facility in Wheatland, Wyoming.
