Western Experience at Cheyenne Frontier Days
Cheyenne, Wyoming

BLM's Wild Horse & Burro Program, in conjunction with BraveHearts and Mantle Adoption & Training Facility will bring “Operation Mustang®” to the New Western Experience attraction during Cheyenne Frontier Days. 

Professional horse trainers and military veterans, from BraveHearts, will demonstrate wild horse and burro gentling techniques daily. The trained animals will be available for adoption through competitive bid on Friday July 29, 2016.

  • July 22 - 30, 2016
    Daily training demonstrations: 10 am - noon and 4-6 pm 
  • July 29, 2016
    4-5 pm - Preview wild horses and burros
    5 pm - Live auction and bidding; approved adopters only  
  • July 31, 2016
    7 am - noon  - Load adopted animals

The twenty wild horses/burros will be halter/saddle-started at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility.

Due to traffic congestion at the Frontier Park and for the safety of the adopted wild horses and burros, loading and shipping will take place on July 31, 2016 from 7am to noon. BLM can make arrangements with out-of-state adopters to pick up animals at a later date at Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility in Wheatland, WY.

BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program information booth will be open daily from 9 am - 7 pm.

Any horses that are not adopted during the event will be available for adoption, by appointment, at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility.
