Press Release

Mustangs Adopted at Cheyenne Frontier Days

Two halter-started fillies will be available for adoption via silent bid during Cheyenne Frontier Days.  They will be available for viewing in a corral across from the General Land Office in Wild Horse Gulch, located east of the fairgrounds. Bids may be placed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bidding will close at noon on Saturday, July 28, and the two yearlings will go home to the highest qualified bidder or bidders.

The grulla filly with a star on her forehead and socks on both hind legs, was gathered from the Little Colorado Herd Management Area (HMA) north of Rock Springs, Wyo. The dun filly with a star, strip and snip, comes from the Antelope Hills HMA near Lander. Both horses have been gentled at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Center near Wheatland.
