Sage-grouse Genetic Study Underway
The Pinedale Field Office (PFO) is assisting Beringia South, a Jackson, Wyo., wildlife consultant in a sage-grouse genetic analysis by providing $20,000 in funding and over 200 sage-grouse blood samples collected since 2005. The genetic study's aim is to determine if or how the Jackson population of sage-grouse is related to any other populations in the surrounding area, such as the Upper Green River Basin population located to the south.
