BLM Celebrates Earth DayBy Lorraine Keith, Public Affairs Specialist, High Desert District The Bureau of Land Management Kemmerer Field Office (BLM), the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, the Youth Alternative Home Association from Evanston and the Boy Scouts of America Troop 915 from Green River to came together on Earth Day to improve the Slate Creek and Weeping Rock campgrounds. Volunteers from the Youth Home and the Boy Scouts joined agency personnel and other volunteers by planting 45 cottonwood trees at the two BLM-managed campgrounds located on BOR lands. The 20-foot tall trees were purchased by Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge with funds provided by BLM's National Landscape Conservation System program. |
