On May 5, 2009, Lesly Smith participated in the Spring Tree Jamboree sponsored by the City of Cheyenne Forestry Division. Her four presentations focused on the “Have you ever met a tree?” initiative.

At the event, 183 second graders found trees, described them and shared with their class what they found. Lesly is the Recreation and Travel Management Lead for the BLM, Wyoming State Office.
