Muddy Mountain Road Opens May 30

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper Field Office announced today that Muddy Mountain Road will open Friday May 30 at noon.

“There are still some areas that are wet and muddy due to melting snow,” noted Assistant Field Manager, Rhen Etzelmiller. “We are asking the public to use caution when traveling on the mountain to prevent resource damage.”

Muddy Mountain road is closed on an annual basis for public safety and resource protection.  The closure normally runs from the end of November through the beginning of June.

Muddy Mountain Road is the primary access route to the Muddy Mountain Environmental Education Area, which includes two campgrounds and numerous recreation trails.
